I have a few of these but this one is not one I am familiar with so wait for other opinions...To my knowledge most of these are hollow stamped not solid like this one except Karneth (solid brass plated zink), Maedicke & Schwerin (the latter 2 in solid aluminum). On the one you post the detail is poor (cast?) and the hardware (particularly the hinge) doesnt give a warm & fuzzy feeling. Personally I would pass

Not familiar with this design, but from the soft obverse detail it's clearly cast production, and in the KM badge world, hinges with sharp-cornered flanges like that are usually post-war.

I don't see any particular reason to invoke the "foreign-made" theory here unless there is other evidence to present?
