First, my apologies for the inability to post photos. For some reason I am not able to. I can EM them to anyone with good knowledge of KM headgear.
The M43 is all blue, has always been blue, brown sweatband not gray, no piping/ waffenfarbe of any kind.
Front eagle and roundel look expertly sewn on. Gold OLD buttons ) pebbled. Inside of liner is dark ( blue or black). NO plastic diamond like a postwar feuerwehr M43.
Material is wool, not gabardine nor trikot.
The cap came from a little junk store in Waterford, CA. Located in the central valley, this town was surrounded by several POW camps which housed DAK and KM prisoners.
The old lady that sold it at the shop needed money and stated her deceased husband used to be a corrections officer in a camp from 1944-46.
Any chance it could actually be an elusive, real KM M43 ?
The seller offered to fully refund me if I was dissatisfied, and after reading all the posts, I see no solid evidence of a legitimate KM M43 except for one or two in some of the more experienced members.
Constructive input would be appreciated. Thanks
