    Kriegsmarine / Luftwaffe 10-30 B-2 lifevest Query

    Hello all.
When looking at photos of U-boat crews wearing lifevests, they seem to wear a mixture of the standard three (?) Kriegsmarine types. However in many photos some of the crew are wearing what look to be a Luftwaffe 10-13 B-2 lifevest. I've been looking out for a jacket like this, with KM markings, for a few years but have never seen one, or even seen a reference to one.
Then a few days ago I picked up a lifevest vie WAF that purports to have come from a U-boat crewman. It has, however, the standard Luftwaffe label with the type "10-30 B-2" and "Anforderz.: FL 30154-1"
So my question is - did the Kriegsmarine have their own version of the type 10-30 B-2? If so I' d love to see some photos, particularly of any markings.
Otherwise, is it possible that the KM were supplied with a batch of Luftwaffe jackets which were issued without any additional coding (seems very un-Wehrmacht like) or failing that might the U-boat crewmen wearing these had acquired them privately?
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere, I tried searching but couldn't find anything relevant.
    Cheers
    Keith

      Hi Paul,

The m and eagle stamp are very faint on the back panel but as you see it was isued to kreigsmarine and luftwaffe. Now to find out who owned it or rather what service air or sea ......... Regards Paul.

                Hi Paul,
Thanks so much. The pictures get the point across, which is all that matters really. You've also solved what was, for me, a mystery. It's interesting that even though my B-2 is of later manufacture (1943?) both were supplied by Drager Werk Lubeck. I've seen a number of different manufacturers of Luftwaffe life-vests of this type, but it may be that Drager Werk Lubeck had some sort of side contract with the KM. Mine does not have the KM stamp that yours does, but it's obviously well used and faded, so it's possible that if it was lightly applied (as yours seems to have been) it just washed off.
Of course if anyone has further thoughts - or another Luftwaffe B2 with a discreet KM stamp, it would be interesting to hear about it.
                Cheers
                Keith
