I just picked up this incredible communication officer full length leather greatcoat. When I took out the inside mohair lining I found something I’ve never seen before and need help to identify.
Inside the front on both the left and right side near the shoulder there are three vertical leather flaps that snap shut over a small metal ring. It’s like a small key ring.
Please tell me what that is. What was it used for?
Also inside about midway down on the left there is a slot Who is opening is protected with leather. Is this perhaps for a dagger? I hope these don’t seem like silly questions, I am new to this and appreciate any help.
