Rare 1 model metal breast eagle for the blue reefer

Hi.

I would like to show you this rare Rare 1. model metal breast eagle for the blue reefer and a officer cap eagle.

I found this reference picture that shows a metal eagle in use.
The title of the picture is: New uniform regulations (Reichsmarine)- 1934- Photographer: Presse-Illustrationen Heinrich Hoffmann

It seems like the NCO has made one hole on each tip of the wings to fasten the eagle better. Maybe the prongs snapped off.

Does anyone else has any 1. model breast eagles or pictures of them in use?

Nice picture and nice birds André but IMO the breast eagle in the picture (which I have never seen before) isnt the same as the larger breast eagle in your set...

For 1 thing the eagle proportions are different. The breast eagle in the picture has the lower wing crescents much closer to the swaz/wreath and the angle of the wing tips more pronouced than on the metal specimen in your picture

For another your breast eagle (aluminum right?) is part of a rarer set which includes a cap eagle, a wreath and a breast eagle all made in aluminum and designed to simulate embroidery and mounted on a KM blue backing with folded clips. There is also a KM beamte (silver) versionof this bird. The cap eagle is the rarest component of this set but you encounter cap wreaths & breast eagles more often. The breast eagles are sometime without backing or missing the clips which are rather fragile & drilled to secure to the uniform.

The (usually) cloth mounted "embroidered looking" eagle you show is actually one of 3 different types of cloth mounted eagles I am aware of (there may be more). No idea why those cloth backed birds were introduced (possible alternative to bullion before celleon became the norm?) that exist. The other 2 variants are identical (same die) to 2 known summer uniform eagles (see the attached pictures) both are also cloth mounted aluminum with clips like yours. The one in the top right corner also exists in pinback cupal and tombac; the lower one (on red background) is an Assmann product of the second design and IMO all 3 types were introduced after the short winged Heere/KM cap eagle shown in the picture was replaced by the second pattern (1937?) cap eagle
