    Summer Eagle For Review

Guys can I get your opinions on this one...I know very little on these Summer eagles...I’d this one real , and for which branch?...I know Kriegsmarine are normally gold, but there are some silver?...or so I’ve come to understand.

Right: nice J. C. Maedicke silver eagle (IMO 2nd pattern) in aluminum that can also be found as a gold version. Correct for KM Admin officers (beamte) as they wore silver insignia

Nice Schwerin ww2gunguy! Love those Schwerin birds, a natural for KM since they made KM badges but the matching Maedicke gold bird isnt too shabby either...

Did Schwerin make a Kriegs Summer eagle in sliver too, or just gold?

I know they made them but I've only ever seen 1 on a dealer site about 10 years ago so its much rarer bird than its gold bethren IMO. More recently I also came across a hollow stamped (instead of solid) unmarked Schwerin bird in zink (some aluminum ones are also unmarked) which was another first for me

Good luck with that but who knows?

It took me a long time and a rather hefty chunk of change to get my 1st gold Schwerin but for the last couple of years they seem to be popping up all over the place at fairly regular interval (& in great shape I might add) so I suspect someone did indeed "hit the jackpot" (probably found a box or 2) and is now dumping them on the market slowly enough not to shoot himself in the foot. I hope the same thing happens to the the silver Schwerin
