    Leather deck coat

I would like opinions on this coat please. I couldn't get the photos posted with my limited computer skills. Thanks!

    Regards,
    Mike

Nice original coat in good condition. Buttons may have been changed as normally there'd be grey buttons on it, not gold ones.

Uploading photos on behalf of Mike; the website drops 'sold' items at 7:00 pm central each day, and even if it did not, posting the link requires login, etc., so easier to just have the photos up here.

Does anyone have further opinions on this, specifically if the buttons look to be original or replacements? They look field gray to me instead of gold and I like the amount of wear on them in comparison to the rest of the coat. The fact that they are not KA buttons is a positive for me as well. I bought this so either way will be fine. Thanks again for any help!

                Regards,
                Mike

                  Hi Mike,
They look gold on my screen but eitherway I wouldn't worry about it. Looking at the backing buttons and patina, I believe they've been on the coat for ages.
Assuming they were put on wartime, they only enhance the character of the coat in my view, and I'd say there's a high likelihood of that being the case.
                  Beautiful addition to any collection!

Nice deck coat with indeed field gray coastal troops (land based) buttons, which is fine!

As others I have no problems with the buttons, IMO a nice leather deck jacket

Agree with Martin that buttons could be period stitched, but for me they are painted in tan color, not gold, and for the style and the size they could not been used for a tropical jacket or simmilar, so IMO is just that the color is not the usual grey but tan, maybe by the maker, ... Some of the inside horn reinforcement buttons are missing, so at anytime the outside buttons were replaced, but the not buttoned ones seams to have the short shanks, which is a good sign as these are almost impossible to find nowadays.
