KM Funktmeister jacket from H. Weitze

We really need your help regarding this jacket.
It was bought from Helmut Weitze back in 2007 as an original Now I bought it from the man who has owned since 2007 to put it on display at a coastal artillery fort where I am one if the members of the restoration group.
We have received feedback from other collectors that the jacket is most likely a copy.
What is your opinion about that? We also contacted Helmut Weitze, and his answer are enclosed by a picture too.
All answers are highly appreciated. And if it turns out that the jacket in fact are a copy, I hope Mr Weitze will do the right thing.

All pictures can be viewed at this link.

Hello, I don't like what I see, IMO this is not an original Kriegsmarine WW2 reefer, there are some details that are wrong. The buttons configuration is not correct, the bottom pair of buttons should be in line with the waist pockets; the lapels are too long and narrow, in line with the buttons; shoulder straps are stitching over the shoulder and not inside the shoulder; the sleeves lining is not of the style used in German tunics; eagle is of the EM or junior NCO style, ...

In the other hand some detail of the construction, the frontal vertical seams, the pockets style, ..., and the fabric look correct.

Maybe a non German maker tailoring?

In any case I would not buy this one for my collection.

                Regards
                Eduardo

                  Hi.

                  I totally agree with KM-Spain.
IMO it looks like an upgraded volksmarine reefer.

Totally agree with other opinions. Many navy jackets all have a very similar style, so there is often some resemblance. But this one is not close enough, too many details are off.
