    Kriegsmarine Z destoyer's ship's name plate ZERSTÖRER

The Z-class destroyers had name plates that can be seen in pre-war pictures at the same place of the "Deutschland". In the NARVIK WAR MUSEUM the name plate of GEORG THIELE is part of the exhibit on the destroyer. Mr Torgersen (of the museum) states that: "The letters with Georg Thiele and the ship bell in brass are original from the ship. The plate that the letters are attached to is a copy".

Z 2 GEORG THIELE was built by Deutsche Werke in Kiel (launched in 1935)
Z 19 HERMANN KÜNNE was built by Deschimag Weser in Bremen (Launched in 1937)
Z 20 KARL GALSTER was built by AG Weser (Deschimag) in Bremen (launched in 1937)

        Name plate

The name plate did not sell and was relisted.
I decided to take a chance, and as no other
Bidders and relisted I have not sniped this item
from member leproc. So hope he dont mind.

I think it looks nice in hand- and have a similar
serial number as the expensive one from the other
eBay auction. Could be nice if it's really
that's it's really from the ship. Removed before
        it was sunk.

        Here are some more pictures

thanks for the pictures, very nice indeed, but not large enough to be the original one removed from the ship.
