Yes, I also wondered about that button hole stitching...more so as it is from the same maker. Maybe they just had a certain quantity of sewing machines and some workers had to do it by hand ?

You are totaly right about the commanders/Crew term. I had in mind that someone told me they were especially worn by the commanders but obviously that is wrong.

For sure a nice find, but by whom was it worn during WW2? I notice that the points of the collar are quite rounded. Are all these opinions speculations or facts please? Has this exact kind of jacket been observed in wartime pictures yet? I would love to see one posted!
