    U-Boat Crew Trade Badge Question

I would like to know which Kriegsmarine trade / qualification badges were worn by members of U-boat crew members. Also, what is the difference between gold on black, red on black, blue on white, etc?

    Thanks

      Hi.

Have a look here about the different roles on an U-Boat and you can match them with qualifications.
      http://uboat.net/men/crew/

Trade/branch/rank badges: gold on blue for the blue uniform, blue on white for white uniform
Qualification badges: red on blue for blue uniform, red on white for the white uniform

I do not know any specialty badge which was worn solely worn by U-Boat crew members.
U-Boat crews also consist of men coming from other KM services, so there is no uniformity of qualification badges.

      Regards
      Christian

An abundance of examples can be found in Gordons excellent book "Torpedo Los! The Fascinating World of U-Boat Collectibles" ref https://www.amazon.com/Torpedo-Los-F.../dp/9329700292

It is from the US Army 29th Infantry Division and not a German unit.
