KM kadett and/or career insignia for supplementary officer..?

    Hey all,

I have these 3 insignia; I am sure the 2 on the right are insignia for a Sanitätskadett, but i was wondering if the one on the left is for a supplementary medical officer..?..

It is clearly a gold wire boarder and not yellow thread.

Please share your opinion on this.

    Best regards,
    Hans Kristian

I would say that all of the patches is made for a "Sanitäts Kadett" . The one on the left , is just a hand embroidered version.

Agree with them, Kadett. You can find many variations, gold wire, cellon, cotton thread, ...

The wire one could also be for supplementary officer.

Question: Was the kadet worn on both upper arms or just the left arm?

photos I have all have the kadet on the left arm, with the right arm not visible on the photos

The Kadetten wore just one career insignia on the top of the left arm. The construction and size of the suplemmentary office sleeve insignias were different.

                  Hi Eduardo,

Thanks for commenting, but I would still like to elaborate a little here:

In Angolia the following can be found on page 206, vol. 1: "Supplementary officers were distinguished by an oval border of gold wire around the sleeve insignia.."
This, and the B/W photo on page 208 correlates quite well with the insignia that I have showed here...or what would be your opinion.?. And do you have any of these insignia to show..?..difficult to discuss because I never saw one..if not mine is such an insignia, that is..

I looked through your book, but could not find any pictures of these...

                  Best regards,
                  Hans Kristian

                    Hi Hans Kristian,

you are right that is not easy to find original career insignias of supplementary officers, you have examples of these insignias in pages 98 and 100.

First one: engineering officer career insignia of the corps of supplementary officers; second one: insignia for cadet of naval engineers.

Supplementary Officer insignia in wear photo. Note the size of the insignia.
