Hi all,
I am trying to help a lady, with no recompense to myself. Maybe someone here knows of a market for this or might be interested in it for themselves for their room. She wants to sell it but Iwould like to say here and now that I am not trying to sell it on here. PM me a or speak up with suggestions of what she might be able to do.
Her note to me.
"I have been referred to you. I have a rather unusual item. It belonged to a family member who has passed away and I am helping liquidate some of his things. I am attaching 5 pictures for your review.
It is a framed, limited edition print signed by Hans-Georg Hess with a COA from SHARKHUNTERS.
Hans-Georg Hess (6 May 1923 – 29 March 2008) was a German U-boat commander of the Second World War. He commanded a single U-boat from September 1944 until the end of the war, and sank five ships for a total of 2,298 gross register tons (GRT), and caused another to be declared a total loss for 7,176 GRT. For this he received the Knight's Cross. Was the youngest Combat Submarine Commander of WWII. A member of the Russian Navy.
I will attach several pictures to this email. Do you think it is saleable? A framed picture with glass is expensive to ship. Maybe I should open the frame, remove the mat and see if the print can be removed, rolled and sent in a tube shipping container with the COA."
Here are the pics.
