what are these disks - Torpedo ?

Hello All - A friend of mine got these recently but does not know what they are. We think the M at the bottom may refer to Torpedoarsenal Mitte. They measure 14.5 cm in diameter. We thought maybe they were some sort of quality inspection disks from the manufacture of torpedoes.

Any help would be appreciated. If this would be best put in another forum please let me know.

Have seen some of these for sale in Hamburg about 15 years ago. Presumably these disk were hung onto torpedo's. Personally, looking at the eagle and M, I am not a believer of these items. Would love to see them in an original picture hanging on a torpedo to convince me!
