As far as I know the emblem of U-80 was the coat of arms of the city of Wiesbaden. This one shown IMO not KM.

Sorry, hard to see. Than it should be a flute player on a globe. For me it looks more of a WW I type shape.

Agree, could be a WWI veteran serving in WWII. I also agree the uboat design seem more like an older boat.
If from WWI, the badge most be rare. All crew died that was on bord when WWI U87 sunk. If so, it was a crew member
not active on the last mission.
