    Hello,
I.ve had this for a long time but I just wanted to be sure it's original before selling.
Thanks for your time and expertise.

Same type as in this portrait photo if I'm not mistaken.

    Best regards,

Thanks, Norm. Nice to see it in a period photo.

Here's a thread that features an eagle very similar to this type but a bit different:
        http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=849861

In my opinion the one from the opening post is still a better match to the photo in post #2, but they are definitely closely related.

        Best regards,
        ---Norm

Here's another very similar type, previously posted by Ron here:
          http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...27#post5078727

Almost identical but some small significant differences, like the direction of hte stitching at the center point of the swastika. Because of such subtle differences we can't be sure which type appears in the period photo.

          Best regards,
          ---Norm

Here's the same type as Ron's seen on a French-made Collani in this thread:

A comparison to show the subtle differences between Garry's (from the opening post) and Ron's (which is more like the French Collani version). On Garry's the horizontal arms of the swastika cross over the vertical arms at the centre point whereas on Ron's the vertical arms cross over the horizontal arms. Maybe they're really all the same type but with slight differences between production runs?

                Hi Norm,
Your eye for detail is impressive, as always.
Although the direction of stitching on the swas is the same on Ron's as it is on the one on the collani, the coarseness of the feathers and wings is more like Gary's. Heaps of space between the feathers whereas Ron's is pretty tightly woven..
No idea what that means or what the value of that observation is though...
