Good day Gents,
I have just spotted a Prinz Eugen cap on ebay, I would like to warn you about. In my opinion this is some new quality of tally reproduction.

(John, could you please attach the images of the auction? My subscription is expired and am therefore not allowed to attach anything to my posts)
The obverse side looks absolutely genuine and exactly how a cotton (Kunstseide) tally has to look like. However, the looks of the lettering being close to perfect, the black base material of the ribbon is far from good and also the reverse is of yellow colour - I guess a consequence of the manufacturing process.
Stay alert, new caution is needed in future! This auction is one more evidence ALWAYS to check the reverse!
Please take note, that I saved my breath to speak about the cap itself. It is pretty evident, that the cap is not period.
Rgds
