Hi Folks: I just want to share with you a KM small Coffee Cup and a Soup Bowl

Cup is made by "Jager" dated 1940
Soup Bowl is made by "KPM" dated 1941 with a green trim

Last picture...I think KM dinner ware is cool. Cups in all services are hard to find.

The Green line: Is for Oberfeldwebel.

interesting. Where does this classification comes from ? Any place where I can find the sources to read about it ?

What does it mean ? The color depends on the "owner" ? The "user" ?

Lets say in an officers mess. They do serve in red, black/silver and black/yellow cups based on who is ordering it ?

The colours have nothing to do with rank, it is just decor. You find different colour rings on DAF canteen ware, again nothing to do with rank. It is a dealer myth IMO to charge a higher price for an "Officers" set.

To be honest, I never never heard about this color scheme and I think this is extremely unpractical in daily live.

Marine, it would be very helpful if you could answer the questions asked above. This would much more contribute to this thread than a simple "What you say is not true".

I am much open for any explanation.

The canteen ware was totalitarian, the extra cost to produce a different colour ring for each officer / beamte class was too great.

What rank are the plain ones meant to be then? Lowest of the low?

You walk into a mess area and you identify who is an officer by looking at his plate? No chance, you look at the rank on his uniform.

If anything I would expect Officers (high ranking ones anyway) to have fine bone china, not chunky, run of the mill, standard canteen ware but with a coloured ring on it.
