    Marineverwaltungs

I was surfing somewhere, and ran across a set of Marineverwaltungs Officers boards with dark/black piping between the braid, similar to HV boards.

    Anyone know anything about this?

Cheers and thanks for any help.

      Hello

      Many thanks for your reply.

I am talking about this. It is not an HV board. The "sloppy" braid is something I attribute to KM boards and the piping is black. The blue base is more a KM blue IMHO than a Medical blue.

          Hello Eduardo

          Many thanks.

Why is the black thread there?

              Hello Larry,

your board has absolutely nothing to do with the Kriegsmarine!

It's a typical M1904 board for an Prussian Army Oberstabsarzt. The black cord says "Prussian" (or any of the minor States who used prussian insignia) and the blue Velvet underlay and the aesculap staff says medical Corps.

              Best regards,
              Andreas

                  Hello Andreas

                  Many thanks for your reply.

Was this before the boards had the little colored stripes in them or were medical officers always like the one shown?

Thanks to both you and Eduardo for your help.

                  Cheers

                    Hello Larry,

from 1904 on, the colored cord was used for medical staff officers instead of the Little interwoven colored Chevrons. A Stabsarzt (Hauptmann/Captain) had still this Little colored stripes. A Bavarian Oberstabsarzt (Major) would have worn a shoulderboard like yours, but with a light blue cord instead of the Prussian black one, and so on.

                    Best regards,
                    Andreas
