    White Kriegsmarine jumper

I was finally able to add a white KM jumper to my collection thanks to the MAX show 2015. There is a name tag sewn to inside corner "Brose", and there is a faint marking above the name tag:

    B. A. - K.
    12.8.35
    2

I believe that the two arm patches are for Chief Petty Officer (Oberbootsmaanmaat) and Gun Commander (Geschutzfuhrer II).

A few questions that I'm hoping some forum members can provide answers to:
    1. Are the two arm patches for Chief Petty Officer and Gun Commander?
    2. Are there ways to research who "Brose" was?
    3. What type of service would someone who wore this uniform see? (U-boat, cruiser, gun boat, coastal artillery, or, impossible to say?)

              Hi,

              one possibility is
              http://historisches-marinearchiv.de/...w2/eingabe.php

Unfortunately the name is somewhat common. So without further details like given name, |stammrollennummer" it will be difficult to identify him.

You can write to the WASt, but same applies here. With not more info on hand, a research will be difficult.

The gunnery patch is of this for a Geschuetzfueher III (not II) which means "smaller" vessel..so below destroyer class vessels.

But of course staff got transferred etc.

Whatever the men's story is, it is a nice jumper ! I like it.

              Regards
              Christian

Hi Christian, thank you for your reply including corrected information and link. As mentioned, I've been searching for a white jumper for some time now and lucked out finding one at the show. It was literally squeezed between the dozens of green and blue tunics at one dealers booth. Just my opinion, but I think these Kriegsmarine service uniforms are greatly under valued.
