What HH do not mention is that they sold the same one in their 47th auction in 2004. Lot no. 2099. So its not directly from the estate.
      Hammer price was 75.000 Euro.
      Regards
      Christian

Well observed Christian! A good documentation (or a very good memory) pays off!

I don't think someone forgets spending 75k on anything !!
I hope to god he had more than one for your sake.

This one seems heavily used. WHat about the other ??

I think Christian's point was that the very same one was sold previously in 2004 and now is coming up for resale at the same price. It would be nice to have the photos and/or description from 2004 to compare, just to verify.

            Best regards,
            ---Norm

Thanks, Norm. Indeed that was my point.
Its not only the same item, the photos are the same too.

If the seller is the same person who was purchasing the baton in 2004 and if it will be sold for 75.000k "only", he is loosing a lot of money (as he had paid on top of the 75 k the surplus fees in 2004 and will now pay again the consignors fees)

              Here screenshots from HH archive.

                Stander

This item is in the same auction for 8000 Euro, and was in 2004 auction too...sold for 10.000....
Again, if it will sell for 8000 "only", a lot of money is lost..

But still a great vehicle pennant

                Regards

I don't think the kind of collector who buys these kinds of expensive items cares about money. Like spending money on expensive vacations or expensive cars.

Anyway, seems like an interesting piece of history.

                  Best regards,
                  ---Norm

Baton was withdrawn accordingly to web published auction result.

That is not correct. I followed the auction as well as it is listed for the mentioned hammer price of 90000.
