Marine-Flak-Abteilung 264
Flakuntergruppenkommandeur Sylt-Süd
Flakuntergruppenkommandeur Hörnum

Die Marine-Flak-Abteilung 264 wurde am 26. August 1939 in Hörnum aufgestellt. Sie unterstand dem 8. Marine-Flak-Regiment und fungierte als "Flakuntergruppenkommandeur Sylt-Süd", später als "Flakuntergruppen-Kommandeur Hörnum". 1939 wurde die Abteilung wie folgt eingesetzt:
Flak- und Sperrbatterie Wittdün (3 x 8,8-cm)
Flak- und Sperrbatterie Puan Klent (3 x 10,5-cm)
Flak- und Sperrbatterie Rantum-Mitte (3 x 8,8-cm)

1941 erfolgte der Einsatz der Abteilung folgendermaßen:
Flak- und Sperrbatterie Wittdün (3 x 8,8-cm)
Flak- und Sperrbatterie Puan Klent (3 x 10,5-cm)
Flak- und Sperrbatterie Rantum-Mitte (3 x 8,8-cm)
10 x 2-cm Flak
5 Flak-Leuchtgruppen
E-Meß-Verfügungskompanie

1942 wurde die Abteilung wie folgt eingesetzt:
Stabsbatterie
Flak- und Sperrbatterie Wittdün (3 x 8,8-cm)
Flak- und Sperrbatterie Puan Klent (3 x 10,5-cm)
Flak- und Sperrbatterie Rantum-Mitte (3 x 8,8-cm)
schwere Scheinwerfer-Batterie

Aufgestellt im September 1939 in Hörnum. Die Abteilung unterstand dem Marine-Abschnitts-Kommandanten Sylt. Die Abteilung wurde am 23. April 1943 auf Sylt aufgelöst. Der Abteilungsstab verlegte nach Wesermünde und stellte dort eine neue Marine-Flak-Abteilung 264 auf. Diese unterstand dem Marine-Abschnitts-Kommandanten Wesermünde-Bremerhaven.

I have ( or better had ) the whole history and docs of this commander ( and family ) from the 264 Wesermünde/ Grebswarden/ Stotel etc... ( and his former 244) Flak Abtlg.
A part of them I sold to this museum, because it's the old existing Flakleitstand of the former Flak Abtlg. ( another in Imsum/ Brinkamerhof ,close to me , was torn down a few years ago , also the ruins of the "Fort Brinkamerhof"- fortress itself !! Very Sad... if interesting , google for it ( keyword: brinkamahof ), there are much infos available.. also one here:

So now a part of this grouping it's in the right place for that ...a few items still I have !!

... and with " any opinions " I meant if anybody knows for what they are produced or / and used for :
for some parts at the wall in the accommodations as normal ceramics or coaster for glases , coffee cups....or similar , or as presents...... - because on a few a found little old foam stripes on the reverse... ??!!

Manufacturer info

I found out the manufacturer:

two of them - of one I showed also the reverse, are from the Bremer Wandplattenfabrik -Grohn - this is their old marking sign on it - the "G" in the leaves garland

later named Norddeutsche Steingutfabrik Grohn ,
today Norddeutsche Steingut AG with their "daughter" = named Nordceram located in Bremerhaven

One of the other was produced from the Wandplattenfabrik -Somag-Meissen

( On the fourth one , there is no producer sign to find )

The two identical ones have different manufacturer !!!

Die Marine-Flak-Abteilung 244 wurde am 26. August 1939 in Weddewarden bei Wesermünde aufgestellt. Die Abteilung unterstand dem Kommandanten im Abschnitt Wesermünde und fungierte hier als "Flakkommandeur Wesermünde". 1939 war die dabei wie folgt eingesetzt:
Flak- und Sperrbatterie Weddewarden (3 x 10,5-cm)
Flak- und Sperrbatterie Langlütjen (3 x 8,8-cm)
Flak- und Sperrbatterie Lune (Tabar) (3 x 8,8-cm)
