    KM Thermometer

    Hello,
For my first message, can I have more information about this thermometer ?
He could be on a boat ? U-boat, Zerstörer ?
He was got back within the submarine base of La Pallice ...
    Thank you

original and nice, but very little documentation exists that gives detailed information about its use, at best you will find a picture with a thermometer in the background when you are lucky without any details

the unit of the scale is indicated left upper corner aboven the 60 and it says C = Celcius, so it is not a trim indicator, these were called "Schlingerlibelle"

Yes I have a one which was removed from a U boat, similar style but think it is painted steel. just away for a couple of days so will dig out some photos when I return. Yours looks highly polished, is it stainless steel?

No, they have mounts and are designed to be fixed to a surface. Have not been able to find out where these are used but perhaps the engine room as they have round round circular shield around the bottom I'm guessing to prevent direct radiant heat from affecting the bulb. Can't think of anywhere else where they might be needed.
