Picked up several items from one gentleman (no fancy story behind them, he picked them up at an military antiques store in Alexandria, Va in the early 1970's when he was younger). Ha, it was sold to him as a U-boat captains coat. Although an interesting piece I am not very knowledgeable about Kriegs uniforms and just trying to figure out if this is a legitimate piece. I like the way the loops for the shoulder straps were done, overall worn condition, the front buttons were actually moved over about two inches. Underside of the collar and neck lining were done in the darker grey leather I would kind of expect on a Kriegs item. Buttons are plain pebbled version, I peeked at the reverse of two and one was unmarked, the other OLC. Any chance on this one?

Agreed...pattern is off and lacks anchor buttons in gray or gold...
It certainly resembles one but the pattern is off and the shiny pebbled buttons are wrong (and fresh replacements)
The shoulder loops on the other hand do look convincing (and they did use private coats too...strange buttons!)
