U-Boat Crewmember Hat Badge?

This came with some legit WW2 German stuff so went into daydream mode and am imagining it is a hat badge for a member of U-707.

Badge is 35 mm. The reference text says their badge was approx. 15-20 mm, which seems really tiny.

Hi Don,
The problem with those badges is: Without a rock-solid provenance it's very difficult to judge on authenticity.
Main point is that you like it and you are satisfied with it.
