Tim, from pictures the visor is replaced IMO, so propably an original base cap with post-war visor added

For me it is an early post war cap with many original parts.
The mohair band seems to be sewn on the cap, if it is the case, again a bad indication.

Hi, I'm not so deep in knowledge about KM specific visor caps that I don't collect (KM it's not my focus) so for sure you're right about this cap.....
But I agree about the above said.....I'm quite sure that a sort of soft vinilic/plastic visor brim have been used in the period........
of course IMHO

By good fortune I found this photo of my former Pekuro cap that exhibits the same smooth "plastic" visor trim. In 2011, this was deemed okay by numerous WAF members.

The cap is long gone so feel free to criticise if the situation has changed in four years.
