I recently acquired this Bordmutze for my own collection. Can anyone identify the emblem?

    Best regards,

One general question: All mentioned U-Boats had a seahorse as an emblem, but in a different look, for example on all the tail pointing left, not right as shown above.
Does it matters ore purely "freedom of art" to have the cap insigna different?

A very good point Christian. Any further thoughts Gentlemen?

There are the remains of the last few letters of a name in the cap: ????HTMANN

            Best regards,

            Simon

              Hello Simon,

if your reading is correct, than unfortunately the marinarchive and the U-Boat archive do not list an officer with a name ending with ...HTMANN on the above mentioned boats. Maybe not an U-Boat cap, but another KM vessel ?

Please post the name label, possible another reading ?

              Regards
              Christian

                The e-boat S 35 / 3. SFltl has the seahorse insignia .

In this shows the tail backwards , possibly a cap from this one ( but on the cap is shown a " seahorse on plate " as insignia , on the boat painted only the single seahorse... ) .

                Regards

                Tom

Many thanks for your help with this Gentlemen. The name is written on the leather sweatband, most of which is missing but the remainder of the name can just be seen in reverse on the lining.

                  Best regards,

                  Simon

I have some problems with this cap and seems to have an artificial patina.

                        I asked myself is:
What kind of tailor would sew in his tag in such a sloppy way?
