      The origin...

It comes ( with other items ) from the heritage from a later u-boat commander / Oblt. z. S. His ( own) last boat was a XXI - class boat.

      In his career / starting in the Reichsmarine in 1935 ;

      ....

in relation of the fleet crest / Neustadt/ Pillau
      in the following years :
06- 1943 until 1944 he was in the
      1. U-Lehrdivision, Neustadt/Pillau und U-Bootsausbildung.

      and also

      06- 1944 until 11-1944

      as a commander in the U-Stamm 3 of the 21. U-Flottille, Pillau.

From there he should got or received the fleet crest.

A part of his career you may also see here:

      http://www.ubootarchiv.de/ubootwiki/..._Br%C3%BCckner

      But ist not complete:

      He drove also on the u 103/ u 125 and maybe on the u 100 and u 101

because this told me his widdow and they were very familar with Schepke and Mengersen... also with Claus Rücker / u boat commander from u 103 but from the WW1 / ( Widdow received invitation letter for the wedding of the granddaughter of commander Claus Rücker./ Hamburg )

Sad that I don't got the other interesting docs ( as I received by other collections from other persons ) ...I only got a few and the few items from " him ".

After war and finishing the war captivity he worked at the

      6931 Labor Service Center in Bremerhaven 1950 - 1956

( I have documents and signatures from the LSC commander and other colleagues at this time after finishing the LSC )

He died in 04-1959 in Bremerhaven

(His widdow received also a personal letter from Vizeadmiral Friedrich Ruge - after his death / 29.04.1959 . You'll find it also here under : photos and paperwork )

      This is the little story.

      Regards

      Tom

          I
          - writing error- the designation should be : a XXIII - type boat ( the small one)

I thought you would post the link or perhaps share the documents you described. It is always great when you can attribute a piece to a specific person.

                  http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=773760

in his heritage I received also the EKI, EK II and a small ( post war 1957 ) sticker from the u boat Kriegsabzeichen for private jackets.
( but I have no more info when he received that badges .. what a shame . )
