Question about small ships compass

What are your thoughts on this compass? It is missing the standard KM eagle marking, but does have the "M", which appears original.

Not sure what to say.

I like the M letter, but it's easily faked, so I usually stay away unless it has a provenance, as the same pieces were used by civilian and military vessels.

It's always a risk, as we know.

However, I can't say I can find something bad on this one.

Letter "M" and "1490" is filled with paint, while serial number, which is original and can be seen that is the same as the serial number inside the compass, is just engraved with no paint inside the engraved grooves.

I like it but it is not an U-Boat or S-Boat compass like the seller advertised.

It sold for a lot less this time, but I did not bid this time, I decided to wait for one with complete markings instead.

Ha ha, I know exactly what you mean. I think that is part of our collecting sickness.

Yes this compass sold for about 120 euro less than I bid on it the first time, so not bad for someone, even without the eagle.
