My Kassel find - Konteradmiral Thedsen

    Hello,

back from Kassel show, I would like to share one of my finds:
A mess dress jacket for Konteradmiral Otto Thedsen, the technical "right hand" of Doenitz and responsible for the U-Boat technology since 1935 until end of the war. The jacket is tailored by "Berger & Colani" in Berlin in 1940.

Together with the jacket came his official Reichs- and Kriegsmarine personal files, including yearly appraisals. Some of them are signed by Doneitz himself as chef of the Weddingen flotilla. Also included was a pair of shoulderboards.

I put the jacket on a standard torso, but it is huge size....it is even mentioned in his personal files: "to much weight"

    I hope you like it.

    Christian

    P.S.
Thank you, KM-Spain, for your "on-the-spot" appraisal.

Well this fine collection is definitely in the deep end of the pool for many of us. The jacket and boards are most interesting, and I really like to see that thick sleeve rank, even with the under vest and above all a researchable item. Thanks for sharing fellow KM collector.

If it doesn't trouble you, would be delighted to see the quality of the breast eagle close up please, or is it of standard production. Thanks again.
