Gentlemen
Here is a very interesting group recovered from a "Sloop of War" that had been scuttled in the R. Orne in Normandy. These items were recovered by a Royal Navy Salvage Team commander in June 44.
The Dagger has a very salty look about it with much of the gilt wash has worn away. But there are no dings on the scabbard and the blade is almost perfect. The dagger just needs a good clean.
Battle flag has been used and is worn at the halyard end.
The book is very interesting. Maps and photographs of the South Coast of England. Are these common?
The vet described the scuttled boat as a Sloop of War. What could that be?
A very interesting group in used condition.
