How were these tiny 8 mm KM Buttons used?

Likely a rookie question, as I have not had much KM stuff pass my way. What were these tiny 8 MM Buttons used for?

Hello Ray - Thanks for your response. That means they will really come in handy some day.

I bought them thinking they were shoulder board buttons but did not realize they were so tiny, and was drawing a total blank as to what they might be for. So for a moment thought I had completely wasted my money.

Based on Angolia's book, 12mm buttons were used for visor caps, and 8mm diameter is not even mentioned.

Don, sure these are 8mm? My visor has 10mm and by comparing mine to a dime .

Whatever you have are undoubtedly for a visor regardless 10 -12mm. My apologies for the hasty info by initially assessing on your comparison to a dime.

* All 3 of my KM visors have this same size @10mm (take it that i'm using a floppy metric tape measure, calipers around here somewhere)

I am the one who was hasty - as now they mysteriously measure 13 mm. Not sure how I managed to pull that one off. But now definitely for headgear.

Maybe I need to take more naps. Or quit staring at my signature photo.
