Hello,
I have a reefer in my possession.
It is a classical KM tunic made 1942 by OKM Kiel and named to a Leutnant (W).
Some observations:
The reefer has line officers stars which are bigger than the ususal ones.
The eagle is reapplied for sure.
The Kaleu stripes are aged with much more wear on the underside of the arms (I assume due to desk work). Also the fabric itself is much more worn at underside (it is shiny blank)
The lower rank stripe are sewn with other thread than the middle narrow and upper one.
There are tiny remains of loops for one award.
Now what puzzled me:
1. Instead of line stars, the tunic should have patches for a Sperrwaffen-Officer, right ?
2. The named person is most probably the in Lohman listed Karl-Heinz Grosskurth (W), Crew 1938, but Grosskurth is listed only as Oberleutnant (1.1.43) and not Kaleu. His last position was Division Sperrwaffen-Officer of the 8th division since 4.44, listed also as an Oberleutnant.
He was submissed from the KM in 1947, so that mean maybe he served in the GSM.
I discussed with a friend of mine and one thing we thought of is that he maybe got promoted inside the GSM to Kaleu and also had worn there the line stars.
But I do not have any regulations on hand about this possibility.
Any ideas on this tunic are much appreciated.
Thaks and regards
Christian
