Two variations of the same bird. The bottom one (with oval plates under the hinge and catch) is a gold cupal specimen (with the typical dark toning) and the top one (without the oval plates) is gilded brass. Nice set of originals for me but wait for other opniions to be sure. There is also a silver version and a rather unusual cloth mounted gold aluminum version of the same bird as well.
