    Coastal artillery tunic opinions please

    Hi.

I need your opinions on this coastal artillery tunic.
Has there been any replacement or post war added insignia?

    Best regards,
    André

I'm not a expert like Km-Spain (Eduardo) but from those pics i would guess that these emblems has been replaced after the war (collar tabs, eagle and the chevron)

The breast eagle looks to be a French variant, which would make sense as the uniform has a manufacturer's stamp from Paris.

I can't comment on when the sewing was done (I'm no expert on uniforms either), but it looks good to me

Looks good to me, original applied IMO. Good old thread, matching insignia, wear,...

Nice typical french made KM jacket !
All the badges original applied as more of the time the french made jackets do have the eagle hand sewn ?

                      Hi All,

This is my Jacket, and yes I am a bit disappointed with the out come as I thought I was buying a totally original depot made, so you can see who I purchased if from, but what I want to know if this was done during the War? I have supplied more images that I just took to see if it was period redone or Post War! I am now concerned as from the new close up images of the collar tabs they look like machine done but Post War!

Thanks for Andre who put a wanted post for original KM gear, that has open my eyes as I am just to trusting, and a big lolly pop!

                      Lou

                            Hello,

My thoughts on the tunic were if the collar tabs are machine sewn wouldn't the eagle also be machine sewn? I can see the obergefreiter chevron being added later and hand sewn but if this is an unmessed with depot tunic , in my opinion, the tabs and eagle should have the same sewing application.

                            Fred

I have 3 french made tunics in my collection, all period stitched insigna (2 wool M40 + 1 drillich M40).

For the collar tabs it's a mix of hand and machine sewn and for the eagle it's only hand sewn.

However, I already seen another french made tunic with machine sewn eagle.
