Dears,
before the summer break I want to share with you this U-Boat group.
I acquired a frock coat named to Hans Helmut Fuchslocher. After finding out a bit more about him, I was lucky to acquire a document group form a different source for this officer.
So now its time to share some of those items with you:
Hans Helmut Fuchlsocher was born 12th January 1916.
After a quite active time in the DJ and HJ, he joined the Kriegsmarine in April 1936 as a Kadett (Ing), promoted to Leutnant on 01.10.1938
In March 1940 he joined the U-Boats, being on courses and later on LI on U-144 (School-Boat).
I March 1941 he became LI on U-332 right from the time this boat was put into service. On U-332 under Kaleu Hans Liebe, Fuchlocher has participated on 6 missions, with a total of 325 days on board.
End of March 1943 he was designated to the Lehrdivision in Pillau where he served as commander of the technical courses for leading engineers.
This was his luck as U-332 was sunk on its 7th mission with all hands lost.
In February 1944 Fuchslocher was designated as a military-technical advisor to the IGB (Ingineur Buero Glueckauf) which was the codename for the office in charge to design the U-Boat Type XIII.
In May 44 he was put in charge as LI for U-3002 under Kaleu Manseck. This boat suffered from technical problems, so the whole crew was transferred to U-3007.
1st August 1944 he was promoted to Kaleu (Ing).
U-3007 was sunk by a bombing raid in February 1945, so again the whole crew was transferred to another boat, this time U-3008.
This boat left Wilhelmshaven for patrol on 3rd May 1945 and surrendered 11th May 1945.
Fuchslocher was part of the crew which brought the boat to the UK, were he was POW until mid 1947.
He died 1999.
The group I have in hand consist of several documents of his DJ/HJ career, promoting documents to Leutnant and Oberleutnant, 3 fotoalbums from his time as cadet until his POW time etc.
In addition, there is his soldbuch and ID-tag. Fuchslocher received the Sudetenland badge, the EK2 and EK1, the U-Boat badge and the U-Boat fronts clasp in bronze.
Hope you like it
Christian
P.S.
If you are looking for him on the photos, he is always the smallest one.
