    Named KM Reefer

    Dears,

after a couple of reefer were posted, here one out of my collection (in fact it was the first one I have ever bought).

Kleiderkasse Kiel, tag named to Alfred Stiller.

    His career:
    1918 Leutnant z.S
    1936 Adjudant der Kommandantur Wesermünde
1937 Adjudantur der Marinestation der Nordsee
    1938 Kommandatur Wesermünde
    05/40-07/40 Admiralstabsoffizier Stab Stationskommando Nordsee
    08/40-07/43 Chef Trossschiffverband
08/43-12/43 1. Admiralstabsoffizier Stab Admiral der Seebefehlsstellen
    01/44-05/44 Kommandeur 2. Schiffsstammregiment
    05/44-09/44 Hafenkommandant La Spezia
    09/44-12/44 Hafenkommandant im Abschnitt Venedig
12/44-03/45 Oberkommando der Kriegsmarine/Seekriegsleitung QU VI
    Juli 45 Entlassen

I assume he has not worn the HSF and destroyer badge as his duty was always in staff positions, but it looks more nice....

    Regards
    Christian

Indeed a real nice depot jacket from Kleiderkasse der Kriegsmarine something that i prefer above private tailored jackets,...plus historical background which make this a ++++ item

Great uniform. The reefer jackets are one of my favourite TR uniforms.

                    Great piece

With brocade dress, if I'm right, he would worn a medal bar.
                    Based on Angolia's Volume 1, p. 250&251 under "Parade dress" > nr. 9

That's the only form of dress where brocade belt was used with the reefer (Paradeanzug, introduced by order MV 39, No 284, dated 31 march 1939) .

He would also wore the dress aiguilette at parades before Hitler, at military events with foreign heads of state and when otherwise ordered.

I guess that medalbar of EK2 and long sevice would suit here (but of course, if you have his service records you can find the exact medals to use).

                      Awards

                      Hi Andjelo,

                      thanks for your comments.
Yes, I have to change the display in order to be correct.
Up to now, I could not find any records about awards to Stiller.
Here the picture (I assume made around 1939). It seems he wear the WWI EK2, Frontkaempferkreuz and service medal.

But until 1944, time he became Kapitaen, I assume he got some more awards.
                      Regards

You're right, that's just what t looks like.

It's a great piece of history so it really deserves further investigation.

Congrats again!!! One of the best looking reefers I've seen.

You have a superb Reefer and your setup is beautiful. Might we see a few more photos? An interior would be nice.
Thanks for showing this lovely tunic!

                            Photos

                            Hello,
first thank all of you for the nice comments..encouraging !
Here some pics inside and labels.
The reefer has seen "action." Tailored in 1934 and worn until 1945. So the marks of use are clearly there...but this gives character.

What a wonderful piece. Really what we would all love to behold in our collection and thanks for showing. It is always extra special when there is provenance of history!

                              Best regards
