        Great sextant. I have a similar model of sextant that came off of a u boat that you can compare to. You can be the judge, but it is certainly appears to be a kriegsmarine sextant. But i have to say your is in much nicer condition.

                          This sextant was sold at auction recently is southern NH. I also found out the U-234 was captured by the US and in the late 1940's was towed out to sea and torpedoed of the coast of Boston. It's very possible this was on the U234 even though is wasn't the correct military version. The ship was stripped in the Boston Navy yard before it was towed out and sunk. The sextant could've easily been taken off then but of course we'll never know for sure!
