What kind of rank insignias ?

Dears,
what kind of shoulder boards is this officer wearing ? What are the "white marks" in the middle of the boards ?
Also the eagle seem very wide on this pic. Metal version ?
Are tressings around the star patch common ?

He appears to be wearing a frock coat, and those silver straps are there to hold in the full dress "banjo boards" They look like mops hanging over the shoulders, if you know what I am talking about.

The Korvettenkapitan (Lieutenant Commander) is wearing the Frock Coat which was worn with rank on both sleeve and shoulder. The silver (not white) attachment in the middle of his shoulder boards are designed to hold down the dress epaulettes when they are worn instead of the ones that he is currently wearing. So with the epaulettes, he would be in full dress and be sporting a fore and aft hat. With this combination, it is his service dress or walking out dress uniform. As to the reason for the braid around the star on his sleeve...haven't a clue. That insignia was for cadet officers. I doubt if a training officer would be wearing that insignia, but might be possible.

Hello my friend, is not exactly the same insignia used by cadets, it's smaller, and that insignia was used by the war mobilized officers.

what do you mean exactly with "war moblized officers" ?
Kind of "reserve" officers which were mobilzed than during wartime ?
Do you have any references for those kind of patches ?

Christian, they are not from reserve, they were officers, and officials, mobilized by the war mobilitation order. I have some pictures as yours and some insignia, but I'm currently in Mexico working and I don't have my books, were this is explained, and my pieces in Spain.

It's not retired, why do you say so?
Those are the loops which were always on the frock coat, but were used only with full dress epaulettes (small epaulettes were worn above the loops, while full dress epaulettes were worn through the loops).
