    KM Sailors Knot Question

    Hi All,

Is the white securing bow on the silk sailors knot a separate piece attached directly on the knot itself, or is it formed from white ties on the white/blue shirt beneath?

    Regards,
    Jason

Separate. I believe the knot was sold this way and never untied.

Thanks, I thought that may be the case.

What sort of price do the knots fetch nowadays?

I could do with finding one with the white bow still attached.

No idea, but they are not that common fully tied with the white bow. John

If you're looking for original wartime bow, properly tied and complete with the white tie, prepare for a long journey ;-)

I am looking to find a few and I found only one over three years ;-)

In the meantime you can find BM one to serve on the tunic if you're displaying it.

            Thank you,
Yes, that confirms what I thought.
Whereabouts on the knot did they tie the ties from the v opening on the neck of the shirt?

As far as I know, those were used to straighten the tunics/shirts since they were very tight fitting. They did not tie to the scarf at all.

These scarves are very hard to find plus you have to identify it as wartime, not RM or BM. Hard to do.
