Uboot bed sheet?

Hi,
Can be a sheet for a cot in uboat? Or a tablecloth? (lenght is mt. 1,75)
I don't understand the addition (on only three sides) of red border ...
Can you help?

I have a few sets bedlinnen like those, the small-checkered piece looks like a pillowcover worked open.

the red feltlike cloth don't seem original to it, IMHO.

the largest piece is a correct sheet, also used in barracks and bunkers.

Therefore, I should shell out two shares agiunte? The red part and the litle squares?
So, however, would be the length of only mt. 1.20 is not too short for a bed? Maybe it's a tablecloth?

Large stocks of this KM (non only u-boot) blue checked material was re-used after the war . Women made dresses with it which gave a nick-name of "Dönitz-Mädchen" or something of the sort for those who were wearing such outfits . My guess is that you have here such kind of post-war recycling ?
