    Greetings,
Do you believe these are Vorpostenflottille insignia because the seller told you that is what they were or do you know which flottille these are from?
I haven't seen this in a leather before? The few insignia traced back to the Vorpostenflottille have all been metal.
An interesting piece. Would love to hear what others have to say. If you know what unit, please share.

    Regards,
    JustinG

        Hello,
I'm sure about the 2 Vorpostenflotille and about the leather.
The 2 Vorpostenflotille was created in 1939 (North Sea in 1940 and Saint Malo / Saint Helier until 1944).
You can see it in wear in in Angolia's books (Die Kriegsmarine uniforms and traditions vol 1 p 318 - vol 3 p 435)
But i don't know if it's a good one and opinions are welcome.
        Sincerely, Benoit

            Salut Benoit,

The few insignia traced back to the Vorpostenflottille have all been metal.

Indeed most are . But Benoit's badge is the correct design of the trad badge of the 2° VP based in St Malo and they were believed to have been made in leather.

The badge looks ok to me but I have only seen them on private period photos . Unfortunatly those pictures are far to small to be of any help to positively ID your badge as an original . Your guess is as good as mine , but depending on the price I woud have probably taken the chance as well.
