    Kriegsmarine leather jacket??

I found this today at a local shop,I believe it to be fake, but thought Id put it up to see if there was a chance. I didnt buy it.

I cannot read the maker, but its dated 1942.
I put it in the Kriegsmarine section because of the "M" stamped below the national emblem

Again,Im pretty sure its bogus, but any opinions are appreciated.
    Thank you.

Looks like a good original single breast KM deck jacket modified with the addition of a pleat collar and tailor shortened for post war use, or even periodic???
Some of these were stamped with the eagle over the "M" and of course valuably more desirable. However, the arms of the swastika appear reversed.

the swastika is in the regular position..I reversed the picture when resizing it

            Hi there!

I agree! It was an original three pocket leather jacket. Someone, most probably during the post-war period have add the pleat collar and the two lower pockets for use in civilian way. Leather, lining, label and marking are right for a jacket of this type.

Its hard say if it woth 150 usd or not. By my side, as collector, doesn't worth anything, but maybe there's someone that would wear something like this!

            Best,

I wish they wouldn't have gone to all the trouble to make it into a jacket you can find in any thrift store for less than $50. Thanks guys. A real shame.

The maker of the captioned jacket is Hans Trepte & Co a not so commonly encountered maker of Kriegsmarine leather clothing based in Radebeul near Dresden. Here is a more clearly marked label from this maker.

So a rare maker, and a somewhat rare national emblem and " M " stamp..it just gets more sickening by the minute!
