Uboat white sidecap

I have, to verify, this white sidecap of kriegsmarine.
First question: this sidecap was used aboard uboat only, or in all kriegsmarine activity?
Second question: I like it, but in your opinion, is it an original one?

The white cap was used aboard all the KM ships but this one is totally craps !
