    Fake cap eagle?

Four cap eagles are for sale atm on the e-stand: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=644025

The mark on the one in the lower left corner looks very similar to what was discussed earlier on about the Watch Officer badge.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi Frank,

I see what you mean, but here's the image John posted previously comparing the wartime to post-war marks (in French, I don't know the original source but maybe John knows?)

I think the key point may be the short horizontal line that cuts through the small circle at the top of the "A". In the wartime symbol the line passes along the bottom of the circle whereas in the post-war mark it cuts through the middle of the circle (which is actually more tear-dropped shape in the image). Another key feature is the vertical lines on either end of the horizontal line in the middle of the "A".

So on the basis of this, the mark on the eagle appears correct to me for wartime?

    Best regards,
    ---Norm

      Hi Norm,

The mark + that the pin is shorter than on the three other eagles caught my eye but I think you have a point.

The two vertical lines is missing as well so like you say: probably correct Assmann wartime eagle.

I believe this concludes the whole thing. Thanks Ron for the extra info!
