S-Boat question

I have a question about S-Boats that I hope someone of our KM experts can answer.

Does anyone know at what point the torpedo aiming computer device was installed on the boats? I am working on a S-10 and did not think the early boats had them pre war. At least I have seen no photos of them installed except for one photo on the Prinz Eugen site (weapons section) that shows one installed on an early class boat between the wheel house and forward bulkhead. It shows a man on the bow firing a pedestal mounted water cooled MG so I would think this is a pre war photo. Link:
