Kriegsmarine Cap

I was lucky enough to buy this Kriegsmarine cap and a few other Kriegsmarine and marine police items today from the son of a World War II veteran. This is the first such KM cap I have owned in my thirty-eight years of collecting. As you can see, it is in stone-mint, unissued condition, is a size 58, and was made by the Heinrich Balke Mützenfabrik (Hat Factory), located in Bremen, in 1942. I would like to know a realistic value for cap. Thanks in advance.

I would estimate on the low end $450 dollars ...... all the way up to $1,150 dollars .
I bought mine for $650 two years ago .

Barry, nice hat!! Realistic retail these days IMO is about $1,000 as it is pretty much unupgradeable ($450 would be for a beater). Key is "these days" as alot of this stuff as you well know has stagnated and KM trops are not on the top of the desirability scale - not knocking the hat as it is a nice one.
