Gold pith helmet shields

This shield isn't KM shaped but it's 100% gold in color. Came off a tattered 1941 dated pith helmet. Can it be KM? Thank you!

It is normal that they look golden once the paint wears off as they are made of some kind of copper/brass.
It is a bit of a pitty to have torn them off the original helmet...
