        KM pants

nice pants but I don't like the stamps!! First one like this that I spotted was 10 years ago on an wooden optic box , then it was kriegsmarinearsenaal LORIENT, so there has been some progress in adding cities!! I never spotted these markings in old collections nor old sale catalogues, so imo it is fake

see also this eagle over M exist (fake to)

it is very unfortunate to find this in the reference book KM by Berrafato on page 217, this makes it very confusing for the young collectors

The overkill of stamping says it allready, it' s hard being sarcastic in text, but the 3 stamps say a lot.

            Thanks for your answers guys

Christian, yes I agree with you .... that's why I ask if someone saw this markings, specially the red one "from Cherbourg". I see sometimes red markings on KM items but always............from fake-land

For me not possible to have doubt....fake markings on a perhaps good ww2 pant

Glaser, yes some markings are so easy to reproduce and some books have too many errors

              Hello,
Good pants but over stamped by a well known French dealer.

                Hi,
good pants to me too, didn't come through this KM Cherbourg Arsenal marking before.
Exotic, but french made too, typical !
                Cheers, Pierre

Why are we so shy in saying the names of those crooks that are modifying the historical items to raise the value aftificially?

Are we affraid, ashame or just want to keep good relation with those people?

I don't think they deserve either, but bare naming on ehatever public place it's possible.

Most of us are afraid to accuse those crooks publicly because we think that we need them till they ripped us of

I think just the opposite, that they will take more care about their behaviour if we put every issue public.

If we're helping them to hide behind the "good name" and not spoiling that fairy tale, they can just continue to do whatever they want...

                        I agree with Amiklic1.

For some reason people seem to be afraid or too polite to name the crooks in this hobby and that just protects them so they can continue ripping us off. Granted there are some dealers that are sincere and make honest mistakes and I do not think we should put them in the stocks. Those guys are always willing to do what ever it takes to correct an error. But the ones that are just plain dishonest should be called out on it by name in places like these fora. (I think they should be politely asked to leave shows when they are caught as well but that is just my opinion.)

Vermin don't like the light of day so we should shine a bright light on them when ever we can. This hobby will not police itself. If it is ever going to get cleaned up it will be up to us to do so.

Sorry for the rant and highjacking this thread for it but jeez, I get tired of all the crooks out there.
