tropical tunic

Hello all,

These are the only photos I have at the moment but would like to get some opinions on this one. Also, what qualification badge would go to a torpedo mechanic, the U-Boat badge? Thank you!

The eagle is the four inner wing feather fake with the flaw in it's left wing.

Hard to say on the tunic itself, the pics are not really good enough IMHO.

Indeed William. I had one in my collection for a while before it was pointed out to me.

100% It should have 5 inner wing feathers and no flaw.

Sorry Rob, these are well known fakes and come in many colours, including some that never existed. It also has weave above the fold line on the reverse.
If it was just the flaw, they might be OK as some do have flaws, but the 4 inner wing feathers is a killer.

A fake of the same type compared with a Heer tropical eagle and also an original KM tropical eagle.

Would love to see and evaluate the tunic as a whole. Too bad about the eagle.
The tunic could also have a S-boat badge as well as the U-boat badge as you mentioned.

Even a CA badge for shore launched torpedos from the Sheldt Estuary banks defending the approaches to Belgium-Holland.

Would not be far flung to have other badges such as a High Seas, Auxillary Cruiser, Destroyer. Any combination would also be credible assuming the member inter-transfered between vessels/assignments and qualifications.

I know where your tunic enquirey comes from. I would have no problems saying the rest of it's good to go to include the cypers as well by the pictures. These tunics are not that rare. I could'nt make a call on the boards though? Originals boards as these are not that easy to come by.

Of course my number one appealing combo would be a U-Boat badge as illustrated by my example below
